NASHVILLE, Tenn. — In a highly anticipated announcement, the Tennessee Titans have officially confirmed that construction of their state-of-the-art, 60,000-seat Nissan Stadium is progressing on schedule, with the venue set to open just in time for the kickoff of the 2027 NFL season.
The announcement was made Thursday morning by Titans President and CEO Burke Nihill, who praised the construction crews, city officials, and stakeholders involved in the massive undertaking. “We’re thrilled to confirm that the new Nissan Stadium will be ready to welcome fans in 2027,” said Nihill. “This is more than a stadium — it’s a long-term investment in the future of our team, our fans, and the city of Nashville.”
The new stadium, estimated to cost over $2 billion, is part of a broader redevelopment plan along the East Bank of the Cumberland River. Designed with fan experience and sustainability in mind, the facility will feature a translucent roof, improved sightlines, a 360-degree wraparound concourse, and enhanced technology for both in-person and remote viewers.
City leaders believe the project will cement Nashville’s status as a premier destination for sports and entertainment. In addition to hosting Titans games, the venue is expected to accommodate major events including Super Bowls, college football championships, concerts, and conventions.
“This is a game-changer,” said Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell. “We’re building a stadium that reflects the energy, passion, and ambition of Nashville.”
Fans can expect updates throughout the construction process, with the Titans pledging transparency and regular community engagement. The 2027 season is already shaping up to be historic for the Titans — both on and off the field.
