#In today’s press conference, Coach Dan Campbell opened up about the emotional retirement of longtime center Frank Ragnow, calling it “a gut punch” for the team but a decision he fully respects.

“He gave everything to this organization—heart, grit, leadership,” Campbell said. “You don’t replace a guy like that overnight. You don’t just find another Frank Ragnow.” He emphasized how Ragnow’s presence extended far beyond the offensive line, setting the tone for the team’s toughness and identity. “It hurts, man. But he walked away with his head high, and we’re damn proud of him.”

Looking ahead, Campbell acknowledged the void Ragnow leaves but was confident in the team’s resilience. “This is the NFL. You don’t stop. We’ve got guys hungry for the opportunity. That’s the beauty of what we’re building.”

Shifting to Day 6 of OTA’s, Campbell was fired up about the intensity and competition. “You’re seeing guys fight for jobs already. It’s early, but the urgency is real. That’s what I love.” He praised the young talent stepping up, particularly on defense, where several rookies are challenging veterans for playing time.

But Campbell didn’t hold back when addressing the ongoing “contract BS” around certain players. “I’m sick of it,” he said bluntly. “We’re building a team here—not chasing headlines or drama. You’re either all in, or you’re not. And if you’re not, we’ll move on without you.”

The Lions’ coach made it clear: loyalty, toughness, and accountability still matter in Detroit. As OTA’s heat up and camp approaches, Campbell’s message rang loud and clear—this team isn’t looking for passengers. They’re hunting for leaders.
