The Tennessee Titans’ quarterback landscape is undergoing a significant transformation as they introduce Cam Ward, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, into the fold. Ward, a former Miami standout, shattered records with 158 career passing touchdowns and led the nation with 39 TDs in his final college season. His arrival signals the Titans’ intent to revitalize their offense, which struggled last season with a 3–14 record and inconsistent quarterback play.

Despite Ward’s high draft status, the Titans are fostering a competitive environment. General Manager Mike Borgonzi emphasized that Ward will “earn” the starting role, and current quarterback Will Levis remains in the mix. Levis, entering his third season, started 12 games last year, amassing 2,091 passing yards, 13 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. While his performance was underwhelming, the team values his experience and leadership. Borgonzi noted that Levis “elevates the competition in that room,” underscoring the importance of a merit-based selection process .

This strategic approach aims to cultivate a quarterback who can lead the Titans back to prominence. While Ward’s potential is evident, the team is committed to ensuring he earns the starting position through his performance on the field.
