that was over before it even had a chance to begin. Right from the start, we caught a bad break with a punctured tire. It completely derailed our race strategy and forced us into the pits way earlier than planned, putting us multiple laps down before we could even settle into a rhythm. After that, it was just about logging laps, staying out of trouble, and making the most of a tough situation.
It’s incredibly frustrating to have a race like this—especially after the stretch we’ve had over the past few weeks. The team has been clicking. We’ve had speed, great execution, and results to match. Momentum like that is hard to build, and even harder to maintain, so days like today are a gut punch. You always hope things will go your way when you roll off the truck feeling confident, but motorsport doesn’t always play fair.
Still, I’ve got to give credit to the crew for keeping their heads down and fighting through the adversity. Even when the race isn’t going your way, it’s important to stay professional and take away whatever positives you can find. The car had pace, and we kept it clean to the end.
The good news is we get another shot at it next weekend at Indy. It’s a track that means a lot to everyone in the paddock, and we’ll be coming in hungry. Time to reset, refocus, and go get the result we know we’re capable of.
