Alex Bowman exited Michigan with a very unfortunate statistic — he now holds the longest active winless streak among full-time Hendrick Motorsports drivers. Once seen as one of the rising stars of NASCAR, Bowman’s career has been a rollercoaster of promising highs and frustrating lows. His last Cup Series win came at Martinsville in 2021, and since then, the No. 48 team has struggled to consistently find the speed and execution needed to return to Victory Lane.
At Michigan, Bowman had hoped to turn things around on a track where Hendrick cars traditionally run strong. But despite flashes of pace during practice and qualifying, the race didn’t go his way. He finished outside the top ten again, extending his winless streak to nearly three full seasons. For a driver in equipment capable of winning, that’s a stat no one wants to carry.
This dry spell isn’t just about bad luck. It reflects a combination of setbacks: injury, inconsistent performance, and occasionally being caught up in others’ mistakes. Still, Bowman remains a steady presence in the garage, with a calm demeanor and a dedicated fan base. But in a results-driven sport like NASCAR, patience has limits.
With teammates like Kyle Larson and William Byron regularly contending for wins, the pressure is mounting. If Bowman wants to secure his future at Hendrick and re-establish himself as a weekly contender, the second half of the season will be crucial. Michigan was a missed opportunity — and now, the clock is ticking louder.
