The former head coach who led the Tennessee Titans to their only Super Bowl appearance in the 1999 season, is making a triumphant return to Nashville — not to coach, but to serve as the team’s new General Manager.
Fisher, known for his steady leadership, deep ties to the city, and no-nonsense approach to football, coached the Titans from 1994 to 2010, compiling 142 wins and guiding the team through its transition from the Houston Oilers to the Tennessee Titans. His return marks a significant moment in franchise history, as he brings with him a legacy of discipline, resilience, and an unwavering connection to the Titans’ fan base.
Titans ownership believes Fisher’s experience and intimate understanding of the franchise’s culture make him the ideal choice to steer the organization in a new direction. As General Manager, Fisher will be responsible for player acquisitions, staff appointments, and long-term strategic planning. His focus is expected to be on rebuilding team identity and fostering consistency — elements the Titans have struggled with in recent years.
“I’m not here to relive the past,” Fisher said in his introductory press conference.
