The facility, located in the outskirts of Birmingham, is set to open later this year and will provide housing, education, and counseling services to dozens of at-risk young people.
Aït-Nouri, known for his calm presence on the pitch and now admired for his generosity off it, announced the initiative via a joint statement with the Wolverton FC Foundation and local nonprofit “Future Haven.” The initiative, dubbed “HomeGround,” seeks to offer a long-term solution to youth homelessness, which has surged in recent years due to rising living costs and social instability.
“I come from humble beginnings, and I’ve always believed in giving back,” Aït-Nouri said. “This project is not just about shelter, but about restoring dignity, building futures, and showing young people that they are not forgotten.”
The renovated facility will feature 20 fully furnished private rooms, communal living areas, on-site mental health services, and vocational training workshops. A full-time team of social workers, educators, and mentors will also be employed to support residents in transitioning to independent living.
Wolverton FC praised Aït-Nouri’s commitment to community welfare. Club CEO Martin Rowley stated, “We are proud to have someone like Rayan representing our club. His actions reflect the very best of the sport and what it means to use one’s platform for positive change.”
