Willie Nelson went to Baylor University for two years but left to follow his growing love for music. While in college, he showed strong passion for writing and performing. After dropping out, he worked as a DJ at radio stations across Texas, learning more about the music world. He later moved to the Pacific Northwest, where he kept performing, writing songs, and working as a DJ. In the late 1950s, he wrote big country hits like “Funny How Time Slips Away,” “Hello Walls,” “Pretty Paper,” and “Crazy,” which was made famous by Patsy Cline.
