Former Arizona Cardinals defensive tackle, Rashard Lawrence, isn’t holding back after his recent move to the Detroit Lions. The 26-year-old lineman, once a promising fourth-round pick, voiced frustration over how his time in Arizona ended, hinting at a lack of trust and support from the Cardinals’ coaching staff.
“They never gave me a real shot after my injury. I was written off before I could even show what I had left,” Lawrence said in a recent interview. “That locker room knew what I brought every day. The front office didn’t.”
Lawrence, who battled injuries through much of his stint with the Cardinals, now sees Detroit as a chance for redemption—and motivation. With a fierce Lions defensive unit already on the rise, he’s aiming to carve out a spot and contribute immediately.
“I’m not here to be average,” he continued. “Detroit believes in dogs, in grinders. That’s who I am. I’m going to earn every snap and show that Arizona gave up on me too soon.”
The Lions, known under head coach Dan Campbell for their no-nonsense, blue-collar mentality, may be the perfect environment for a player with something to prove.
