Paul Finebaum didn’t hold back when it came to Big Ten fans—especially those from Michigan. On the Netflix Sports Club Podcast, he candidly declared, “The Big Ten has literally done nothing. … They act like they invented football.” And he didn’t mince words about what would happen if an SEC school didn’t win the national title: “I’m going to leave the country because I am so sick and tired of being harassed by Big Ten fans on our show.”

Finebaum revisited that frustration during an appearance on The Netflix Sports Show, repeating his exasperation with repeated emphasis: “They act like they invented football.”

His critiques extended beyond championships. On his radio show, Finebaum contrasted Michigan and Ohio State supporters, stating bluntly, “Michigan fans are from another planet … I don’t think they are nearly as knowledgeable as Ohio State fans when it comes to football IQ.”

Despite the biting commentary, Finebaum has occasionally offered surprising praise—acknowledging that the Big Ten has closed the gap with the SEC. In a rare concession, he admitted, “The Big Ten has become a really good league. And I’m impressed,” particularly noting conference realignment and TV deals as leveling factors.
