NASCAR driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr. has been fined an additional $35,000 following his actions during the NASCAR All-Star Race weekend at North Wilkesboro Speedway. The penalty, announced by NASCAR, stems from a violation of the NASCAR Member Code of Conduct, intensifying the disciplinary response to the post-race incident involving fellow driver Kyle Busch.
The fine is linked to Stenhouse Jr.’s behavior after an on-track altercation during the All-Star Race on May 19, 2025. After being wrecked early in the race by Busch, Stenhouse waited until the event concluded before approaching Busch in the garage area. Their heated exchange escalated into a physical confrontation, with punches thrown, drawing swift attention from officials and security. While the initial wreck was part of the racing spectacle, NASCAR made it clear that post-race retaliation and physical altercations are unacceptable.
This $35,000 penalty adds to the initial $25,000 fine already issued to Stenhouse for instigating the altercation, bringing his total fines from the incident to $60,000. Additionally, crew members involved in the fray were also fined and suspended for their roles.
NASCAR emphasized that maintaining professionalism and sportsmanship, especially in high-pressure events like the All-Star Race, is essential to the integrity of the sport. The sanctioning body said it hopes this additional penalty sends a clear message that personal disputes must be handled responsibly.
Stenhouse has not yet publicly commented on the second fine, though his earlier statements indicated frustration over what he called “reckless driving” by Busch. As the season continues, all eyes will be on how this feud develops—and whether the penalties will influence driver conduct moving forward.
