Titans rookie quarterback Cam Ward concluded his first NFL minicamp with a clear mindset: work relentlessly, stay mentally sharp, and let it rip on the field. His closing message—“Work out, stay in the playbook, and throw the [expletive] out of the ball”—captured both his confidence and approach. That bold, aggressive mentality is exactly what new head coach Brian Callahan is eager to develop.
Ward made a strong first impression throughout minicamp, completing 42 of 58 passes during 7-on-7 and team drills. He displayed rhythm and accuracy, at one point stringing together a 21-pass completion streak across two days. Despite throwing two interceptions on the final day, Ward handled the setbacks with maturity, framing them as necessary steps in his development.
His self-belief is unshaken. When asked to rate his confidence heading into training camp, he didn’t hesitate: “A 10. I’m a gunslinger. I live by that, and I’ll always die by that.” That fearless mindset, while raw, gives Tennessee hope that they may have found their quarterback of the future.
As the Titans gear up for the 2025 season, Ward enters the next phase of his journey with a blend of humility, confidence, and urgency. He knows the learning curve is steep, but he’s not backing down. The team, still in transition and looking for a new identity, may have just found its emotional engine—a rookie willing to take chances, absorb lessons, and throw his way into the league’s spotlight.
